Tobi Byrd, RN, MS, WHNP-BC, CNM serves as a certified nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner at OB-GYN Specialists for Women, where she treats women in all stages of the life including adolescent care, obstetrical care and menopausal care. She has special interest in caring for teenage women, focusing on education for optimal gynecological health and contraceptive options.
Tobi began her nursing career at Riverside School of Professional Nursing in Newport News, Virginia where she graduated with her RN degree. She received highest honors in nursing upon graduating from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
Tobi earned her certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner after graduating from Planned Parenthood OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner Program, and she later earned her Master of Science degree in Midwifery and certification as a Nurse Midwife upon graduation from Philadelphia University in Pennsylvania.
She holds certifications from the NCC and the AMCB. Tobi is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Tobi resides in Suffolk, Virginia with her husband and teenage daughter. She spends most of her free time watching her daughter play sports and traveling with her family for sports tournaments. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends at the beach.
